62 CHARLOT’ SHOP & GALLERY
Over the years, Rue Charlot has become an iconic and essential street in the “Bretagne – Enfants Rouges – Carreau du Temple – Turenne” area, at the heart of the Marais. It is lined with four popular dining establishments: Café Charlot (Bretagne/Charlot corner), the trendy Wild & The Moon (at No. 55), La Briciola (Normandie/Charlot corner), and the newly opened Collier de la Reine (Forez/Charlot corner, formerly Nanashi), all of which generate regular traffic day and night, with Little Red Door providing a lively nighttime bar scene. Jewelry, watches, men’s fashion, and galleries add to the fame and appeal of this part of the street, making it a prime spot for locals, weekend strollers, and an international clientele.
After renovating a 130 sq. m showroom in 2016 at 52 Rue Charlot, located in a courtyard, we expanded in June 2021 with a 65 sq. m store at the same address. Due to growing demand, we then opened a second 40 sq. m store at 43 Rue Charlot in December 2021, with direct visibility from Rue de Bretagne. We are now completing our offerings with the opening of a 146 sq. m Gallery-Boutique at the corner of Rue de Normandie and Rue Charlot.
This historic neighborhood store once housed a major raincoat manufacturer in France for fifty years. With 146 sq. m of space, located on a corner, it features a 15-meter-long storefront with exceptional authenticity, punctuated by four display windows and two entrances with cross-lighting and ceilings over 3 meters high. It is part of the Hôtel Particulier de Bragelogne. We took care to restore the exterior identically to preserve its charm, with a vintage green facade and black wrought iron grilles.
The space consists of a 116 sq. m ground floor with cross-lighting and a 30 sq. m storage area. As is our custom, the walls and floor are painted white, which, combined with the ceiling height of over 3 meters, makes this Gallery-Boutique even brighter. Professional lighting with 57 powerful directional spotlights provides high-quality display for artworks and products.
Picture rails allow for hanging numerous artworks, visuals, or other displays. Heating is supplemented by a heated air curtain installed at the entrance for optimal comfort.
